Registered Agent Services

A registered agent is a person or entity that serves as the representative of the corporation designated to attend to any notices, summons or official communication served upon a corporation by the state in whose jurisdiction the corporation conducts business. Any member of the corporation such as the owner, the corporate secretary, or a director can be the registered agent. Alternatively, the company can designate an outside third party such as a CPA or an attorney to be its registered agent.

When incorporating a company, each state requires the owners to designate a registered agent and a registered office to which the state can address official communication, renewal notices, annual filing requirements and the complex upkeep of numerous permits and licenses. The registered agent is required to reside in the host state of the business. The registered agent must also possess a physical street address (P.O. Boxes do not qualify).
